Your Church – here for you.
Open day at St Michael’s, Thurmaston – from 12noon to 5pm. All welcome.
An opportunity to come into your church to explore in a relaxed atmosphere what your church can do for you. Displays and activities will include:
- Baptism / Christening
- Children’s activities
- Community groups
- Songs from the Choir
- Organ recital
- Flower arranging
- Martial Arts Display (from 3pm) led by a professional instructor who runs local classes, including childrens’ clubs and self-defence for ladies
- Exciting plans for Thurmaston Old School Community Centre
- Plans for a new toilet in Church
- Campanology (bell ringing) – with a chance to ‘give it a go’ for anybody aged over 11
- History of Thurmaston
Tea / coffee and cakes will be available.
The day will end with a simple ‘Service of thanks and praise’ for our community of Thurmaston. All welcome to join in. From 4.45pm – 5.00pm.
Anybody with memories of going to school as a child at what is now “Thurmaston Old School” is invited to jot them down and pass them at Church to Mrs Sheila Langley or the Vicar, or to post them through the letterbox at Thurmaston Old School.
