Further details on the Diocese of Leicester website.

Saturday 31 March 2018 – Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday Pilgrimage with The Fosse Team of churches – a group will be walking along the riverside to St Mary de Castro Church in Leicester. We will set off at 10.00am from Thurmaston Old School on Melton Road, Thurmaston – just opposite St Michael’s, Thurmaston. There is plenty of room to leave your car in the car park. We return by bus, but you could always arrange for someone to meet you in Leicester to bring you home. The walk is easy and level; around five miles, and we have taken children in buggies and on foot. You will need to wear suitable shoes, and bring with you: a picnic lunch; a stone – small enough to carry in your pocket, big enough to know that it’s there; money for the bus fare back or your bus pass. There will be time along the way to stop, look, listen, pray – and eat our lunch. We expect to arrive at St Mary de Castro at about 1.00pm. We will be welcomed with hot-cross buns and there will be a short service to mark the end of our journey. (Note that we will not be serving hot drinks at St Mary de Castro this year). Everyone is very welcome to come along. Please contact the Vicar or ask at church for more information.
